(I love your energy!)

Shabnam D. — Hi Iara, I have watched “Wantoks”. The work you do is highly commendable as you bring indigenous cultures to the forefront and emphasize the importance of inclusion and freedom. It is disheartening to watch natives struggle to oppose colonialism for their own rightful lands.

Environmental and cultural topics are beautifully captured in your films with natives speaking on behalf of their communities.

Lenns Karoberg — Two days ago we were watching your movie on the Sahrawi’s cultural resistance, which was really impressive to see. As I am part of a delegation from berlin that’s about to visit the smara camp in Algeria in April, it was a great insight into the overall situation and historical background. I am also an aspiring journalist and am motivated to create a short documentary about life in the camps. Therefore thanks again for the inspiration!!

Solo S., Papua New Guinea — Beautiful footage! I also noticed myself somewhere in there.

Abraham V., Taiwan — I’d heard about this and finally watched it. A single film with many stories. Loved it! Thanks for sharing.

Katja J., Australia — Great movie! I really enjoyed it. So many colors and bright footage. I was in the Solomon Islands during this festival and my kids were in the opening parade. You’ve done great job!

Ezzaldeen S., Palestine — This movie was loved by viewers because it has a direct connection with us as Palestinians, as they watch people seek freedom.

Kathleen K., Solomon Islands — I enjoyed and was inspired by the film! It mirrors the wealth of potential that the youth here have to bring about transformation. They need champions who can help them realize that potential.

Patrick R., Australia — The film is so powerful and extremely well made! There was a very passionate Q&A about Melanesian culture, West Papua, and the Australian development agenda. The crowd included Melanesians from Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. There were also university professors who teach climate change issues and Pacific students from Monash. Several people requested permission to host screenings in their communities. All in all, it was a wonderful event.

Madelyn M., France — Your films are truly amazing and so powerful, like a vitamin pill for some, a roller coaster ride for others. You capture not only a young audience but also the general public.

Fernando F., Brazil — I really like what you do. It is interesting and educational work. It also helps spread knowledge and preserve certain cultures, and especially preserve the environment.
