Cultures of Resistance Films has produced more than fifty short films on a variety of subjects, highlighting issues from Indigenous rights in the Amazon and agroecology in Burkina Faso to social justice in Malawi and women’s rights in Afghanistan.

Short Film Collections
At Cultures of Resistance Films, we have created collections of some of our shorts, organized around selected countries and themes. These collections include Dispatches from Malawi, The Gaza Freedom Flotilla, The Resistance Artists series, The Afghanistan series, and The Cultures of Resistance Snapshots DVD. Dispatches from Malawi
Dispatches from Malawi (2020) is a multimedia project featuring Malawians who are using art and creativity to engage with vital social and political questions. It includes a music video and photography.

The Gaza Freedom Flotilla
The Gaza Freedom Flotilla (2010) is a collection of director iara lee’s footage from the 2010 Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara. The Mavi Marmara was the largest ship in the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, an effort to bring humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Justice in the Congo
Since militants from Uganda and Rwanda invaded the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the mid-1990s, an ongoing war has claimed an average of 1,500 lives each day. Cultures of Resistance has produced six short programs as part of Justice in the Congo: Cultures of Resistance Short Films to highlight how artists and activists are working to bring awareness to the causes of the conflict, speak out against corruption, and use the power of art and music to heal wounds of violence and suffering.

The Resistance Artists Series
The Resistance Artists series is a collection of nine artist profiles, filmed from 2010 to 2013.

The Afghanistan Series
The Afghanistan series comprises five short films that director iara lee made in 2010 and 2011 to document life in Afghanistan under the Taliban. In 2021, the series was screened in Belgium after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan as the United States ended its twenty-year occupation. The films are:

The Cultures of Resistance Snapshots DVD (2011) is a compilation of thirteen selected short films that were created in conjunction with the Cultures of Resistance Feature Documentary (2010). The films included in the compilation are:
