J. Alabri – I want to thank you for sharing your inspiring journey and unique perspective on the world. Watching the film was a profound experience it deeply moved me and made me reflect on the issues it addressed, especially regarding domestic workers. This is a topic that truly interests me because I believe in the need to change the deeply rooted mindset in our societies and push for a new era of awareness, justice, and equality. What you presented was a true window into a different reality a life full of challenges, yet also strength and hope. I aspire to see a world where every human being can live with dignity and have equal opportunities.
I’m really grateful for this gathering; it was a wonderful opportunity to gain new insights and get to know you. You are truly inspiring, and I wish you all the success in your future journeys and dreams.
I. Sayhoun – It was a really nice movie, i really enjoyed how the movie help the women reclaiming their power.
K. Jean-Marie – Que le film est très bien pour sesnibiliser et conscientiser. Après la projection nous avons eu un grand panel de partage avec six (6) panelistes et deux moderateurs.Les themes comme l’agroecologie,le genre,les jeunes,les femmes,la culture et les OGM ont été abordés. Beaucoup de gens demandent le film. On avait les autorités municipales avec nous et aussi l’ONG Voix de femme qui a participé à l’animation du panel avec des temoignages sur les violences faites aux femmes. Merci bien à notre grande amie Iara et son equipe pour ce film de grande importance.
Marta Berglez – It was a great surprise and joy to be invited by director, film maker and activist Iara Lee to see her documentary ✨Unidas por Bissau✨um documentário lindo e necessário que mostra a luta das mulheres na Guiné- Bissau pela sobrevivência através do trabalho na agroecologia . Um trabalho importante na conquista de espaço e independência dentro de uma cultura patriarcal onde ainda existem os casamentos forçados e a mutilação genital. O trabalho destas mulheres une a luta feminista e agricultura sustentável. É sobre resistência (ao patriarcado que oprime) subsistência (do planeta) e consciência (de seu lugar de direito na sociedade)
I think most of the African countries we have similar issues when it comes to culture, men are considered to be powerful in the community and it takes intervention of NGOs and government polices to promote gender equality. Communities are very resistance to change their culture even though they have negative impacts to children like in our case in Malawi “Chinamwali”. I like how women cooperatives in Guinea Bissau boosted women economically. I think this is a way to go. I like it❤️?.
