Prato Verde Sustentável was founded in 2013 by environmental educator Wagner Ramalho. The organization is a social and environmental non-profit that is committed to addressing food insecurity in the urban outskirts of São Paulo. By maintaining agroecological gardens in once underutilized areas and offering organic food and agroecological training, Prato Verde fosters a more sustainable and equitable future for all. 
Prato Verde Sustentável received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) in 2024. The award will be used to support agroecology projects for children.
