Cultures of Resistance Awardee — Sudan
Salma Alnour is a Sudanese filmmaker living in Khartoum. Her passion for films stems from her experiences in writing stories and plays, and her interest in drama. She has studied filmmaking in Sudan, Egypt and the Netherlands. Movies are the way Salma expresses her thoughts and how she sees things.
Alnour received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) in 2022 and will be using the award to support her film on gender-based violence in Sudan. The film will follow a research methodology by incorporating script material from four different women, who share their stories of family, work and life.
