Cultures of Resistance Awardee — Lesotho
Reekelitsoe Molapo is an environmental activist confronting environmental and humanitarian disasters through the catalytic power of music. She co-founded and directs Conservation Music Lesotho, which confronts environmental breakdown and humanitarian disaster in the developing world and beyond through music. She also received a Queen’s Young Leaders Award in 2018 for her efforts to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs. She founded Educate Your Peer Foundation, which encourages African young people studying or working abroad to fund the education of one of their peers back home.
Reekelitsoe received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) and is using the award to pursue personal projects and to benefit Conservation Music Lesotho.
