Cultures of Resistance Awardee — Italy
Eduardo Castaldo, born and raised in Naples, Italy, embarked on a career as an independent photojournalist in 2006. His reportage on the Egyptian Revolution in 2011 garnered international acclaim, earning him prestigious awards including the World Press Photo Award in 2012. In 2016, Castaldo shifted his focus, using his own photographs from the Middle East to create street art in support of Palestine. These artworks quickly gained traction on social media, amassing millions of views across his profiles and marked a new avenue of exploration and expression for him. Castaldo’s work has been featured in numerous personal exhibitions worldwide, showcasing both his photography and street art.
Eduardo received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) in 2024. He used the award to support a photo exhibition of his work.
