Cultures of Resistance Awardee — Brazil
Mirna Anaquiri is an artist and Indigenous woman belonging to the Kambeba Omágua people of Amazonas. As an artist, she combines her creative talents to explore and express Indigenous culture and identity. A dedicated activist within the indigenous movement, Mirna advocates for social justice and is an anti-racist educator. She currently serves as the coordinator of the Collective of Indigenous and Black Quilombola Women.
Mirna received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) in 2024. She used the award to fund an installation for a performance art piece.
