Cultures of Resistance Awardee — Sudan

Myarem Art Group is a street art group made up of seven female artists. Their name Myarem means “Darfourian queens”. Their  vision is to use art to speak to women’s issues and create a senses of women’s empowerment in street art and graffiti, a field traditionally dominated by men.  They make murals in public space highlighting diferent social and gender issues. 

Myarem Art Group received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) in 2022 and will use the grant to buy art materials and create a worshop for school children.
