Cultures of Resistance Awardee — Guinea-Bissau

Founded in 1990 by women from Contuboel and Sonaco in the Bafata and Gabu Region of Guinea-Bissau, APALCOF tackles a wide variety of challenges, including income generation, food security, health, sanitation, and education. Their membership of 2500 is mostly women, and at the core of their mission is a commitment to help women through sustainable local initiatives such income-generating agriculture.

APALCOF received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) in 2023.
