Cultures of Resistance Awardee — St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Akley Olton is a filmmaker from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a chain of islands in the Caribbean. His work explores Caribbean culture and the longing of diaspora communities to reconnect with home. 
Olton received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) and is using the award to film a series of interviews as part of “Hairouna, Land of the Blessed,” a feature documentary about a young man from the Caribbean who is on a journey into his ancestral knowledge.
