Cultures of Resistance Awardee — Côte d’Ivoire
1949books is a library located in Côte d’Ivoire that gathers and amplifies women’s writings from Africa and the black world.  
1949books received a Cultures of Resistance Award (CoR Award) in 2022 and will be using the award to fund a podcast about Ivorian women whose achievements helped inspire the 1949books library, including the 2,000 who marched in 1949 against colnoziers in Côte d’Ivoire.
